Prewashing

Stretch fabrics, such as blends with elastane or spandex, should be washed (see the washing symbol!) or pressed with seam before cutting out the fabric pieces. This prevents shrinkage of the finished garment.

As a general rule, all fabrics for garments which you plan to wash yourself, should be washed before sewing!
