What should you
look for when buying fabric?

You'll find a sewing pattern with perfect fit in burda World of Fashion or in our collection of sewing patterns –  but how can you find the perfect fabric for your pattern?

Birgitt Rothfuß and Heidemarie Tengler-Stadelmaier, burda's two sewing professionals, know what you should watch out for. Here are their best tips for selecting the perfect fabric ...

Tips for beginners: If you are just starting to sew, you should avoid “slippery” fabrics, such as satin, georgette or chiffon. You'll have much better results with cotton or linen fabrics which are more “forgiving” of small mistakes.

Ask the professionals in your fabric shop for help!
