Once upon a time....
... there was a package of noodles. The art manager, Judith Milberg, from Munich, Germany decided not to cook them but to use them for a decorative wallhanging. She was so pleased with the results that she started looking at everyday objects with new eyes. You'll be amazed at the results!
Pasta Couture
Art manager Judith Milberg found tortiglioni, penne, and other varieties of pasta so decorative that she thought they would look as good on a wall as they do on a plate. So she threaded pasta onto a thin wire like beads on a string. She draped the strings of pasta over a clothes hanger and decorated the whole with a satin sash – and her pasta dress was finished... and looked good enough to eat!
Knit lamp
Does it break your heart when your favorite pullover has reached the end of its days? You don't have to part with your trusted companion! It can lead an exciting new life as a unique lampshade! Just cut it into rectangular pieces then sew each piece to a tube to cover the lampshade. Metal rings of various sizes give the lampshade its intriguing form.
Wallpaper light
It's what every roll of wallpaper dreams of – to leave its dark cupboard and light up a whole room with its presence! All you need to make this dream come true are an ornate, decorative wallpaper, one or two neon lights, a sheet of Plexiglass – and pleasure in creating your own unique decorative accessory! Cut the selected wallpaper to form a filigree paper lace, glue it to the sheet of Plexiglass, and mount it in front of the neon lights. Then let the wallpaper shine!
Hunter's trophies
No animal had to die to produce these trophies! They are the result of a “safari” to the laundry room or supermarket. But that doesn't mean that the hunt was any less exciting... Start your own hunt for a few plastic bottles, a selection of colorful caps, and some wire – and create your own trophies à la Judith Milberg! Begin each animal face with a plastic bottle, cut at an angle across the back. Colorful bottle caps serve as eyes or they can be threaded onto wire to form the antlers or horns. Let your imagination run free!
Wallpaper weaving
The term “papering a wall” takes on a whole new meaning! A decorative wallpaper is cut into strips of various widths and lengths, then these strips are woven together to form a dramatic ornament for your wall. You can work directly on the wall, pinning the strips in place as you work. When you are satisfied with the results, you can nail the weaving to the wall with small, nails, which then serve as decorative accents.
Humble beginnings
Give the humble fly swatter a new role to play – as a whimsical curtain which will turn any window into an eye-catcher! It's easy to do. Just take 60 to 70 fly swatters and connect them in lines, using white cable ties. Then hang the cheerful curtain and wait for the compliments!
